I am a large-format digital photographer working in staged, highly produced environments. My practice draws on my painting, film, and photojournalism experience to construct scenes rooted in my lived and imagined / dreamt experience.
I grew up in South Mississippi in a blue-collar environment, where work began early and shaped both my independence and attentiveness to place. As a teenager, I spent long hours laboring on farms, in kitchens, and running a seasonal fireworks stand —experiences that fostered a sensitivity to atmosphere, gesture, and the quiet emotional charge of everyday life.
I studied Art Theory & Practice and Radio, Television, & Film at Northwestern University, where access to a dedicated studio space marked a turning point in my work. During this period, I moved between painting, photography, video, and installation while also working in fashion / editorial and photojournalism. Shooting concerts and festivals — including SXSW, Pitchfork, and Riot Fest — sharpened my sense of immediacy and visual rhythm, influences that continue to inform my studio practice.
After graduating, I lived and traveled extensively in Turkey and Europe before settling in New Orleans. I currently live and work in New Orleans, as an artist, and studio / shooting / printing assistant to photographer Frank Relle.
My photographic work is built through careful staging: props, models, lighting, and large-format digital processes are used to construct meticulously crafted images rather than capture found moments. Through these constructed realities, I seek emotional and psychological truth — giving form to the undercurrents of daily life; the things we feel but rarely articulate, and the quiet gravity of unspoken experience.
