Military-Aged Men is an ongoing photographic series exploring modern masculinity and political discourse in a declining empire.

Recruiting myself and a cast of young friends, I stage militia-like exercises — I use costume, props, and tactical role-play as a way of inhabiting — rather than mocking — the militia / tactical-guy archetype, treating LARP-like fantasy participation as a method of investigation into its appeal.

This engagement isn't satire so much as a controlled repossession.
