Curtains

Curtains is an ongoing photographic series that installs freestanding red theater curtains – a symbolic apparatus of western culture – in environments lacking theatrical context.  

These curtains are shown in environments with nothing to conceal. The act of concealment itself becomes the subject, rather than the mechanism.
